Considering a move to North Carolina?

North Carolina has the best of everything. From quiet mountain towns, to bustling city centers, to vibrant coastal communities, we have a it ALL. North Carolina is a great place to live, work, and explore. Check out homes that are currently available throughout the state by clicking here.

Do you want to know what it’s like to move to North Carolina? I’ve got some stories. I moved down here from Connecticut in 2016 and have absolutely thrived. Here are my top 5 reasons to move to North Carolina!

  • The weather is amazing! I couldn’t go through another winter without turning into Jack Torrance. If you hate the cold, North Carolina is a perfect place to make a home.
  • Businesses opportunities abound. From pharmaceutical and tech companies, to the construction trades, to hospitality and tourism - if you can dream it up, you can build it here.
  • Lower utility costs!! I remember the $600/monthly oil bills and cringe. Those high utility costs simply don’t exist down here.
  • Outdoor enthusiasts have it all, too. The beaches are spectacular, the mountains are gorgeous. We have all four seasons. With winter hitting the western side, if you’re into skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling you can head out for a weekend of fun.
  • If you’re a sports fan, you’ll love it here! With the Hurricanes (FKA the Hartford Whalers), the Hornets, and the Panthers, along with men’s and women’s professional soccer, the USA Baseball stadium, AAA baseball, and college sports all over the state, you will find something to watch every season.

North Carolina DMV fun

Getting your driver license in NC is fun!

When I moved down to NC and decided I’d be staying, y first order of business was getting an updated driver’s license. Although the website says to make an appointment, I walked right into a rural location and presented the required documents. As an added bonus, they had me do a quick visual exam including reading different road signs. STOP, Yield, Railroad Crossing and more. Relatively simple, but definiitely caught me off guard at the time!

The good news is, much of the DMV is online, meaning residents can take care of things like license and registration renewals, address updates, and more from home. That is a delightful change.
